This puzzle is slightly confusing – it's one of those puzzles that isn't meant to be as tough to solve, but it has this weird ability to mess around with your problem-solving abilities and you struggle with it longer than you should have. It might be one of the tougher puzzles in the "dumb" set, but it's still, well, a dumb puzzle.
A disadvantage of this puzzle is the fact that you shouldn't use brute force with it, since you'll be able to detach the parts in a way that you shouldn't. The good news, though, is that this won't deform the puzzle in the long term – checked several times, heh.
However, if you give this puzzle to a friend, make sure to let them know that they need to be gentle. This applies to all puzzles, but especially to this one.
